Create a unique thanksgiving table This year
Table decor to wow your guests and create a meal to remember—check out our five tips below!
Whether it's a pile of pumpkins or a potted centrepiece; create your own fall look for the table with a few accents and some inspiration for the season.
Tip #1 - Lighting for the Table
Even if you're having an early dinner, before it gets dark, you can still add atmosphere and enchantment to your meal with candles. The best part of candles? Choosing the candleholders!
Match the table with wood on wood, or mix it up with modern styles like metal and ceramic minimalist handle holders. You can also keep things low on the table with tea lights or pillar candles.
Stay away from heavily scented candles while eating as it could alter the taste of the food or create strange combinations.

Tip #2 - Napkins
A necessary part of any satisfying meal, especially Thanksgiving, napkins can also be food for the eyes! Whether you choose cloth napkins or paper—there are a plethora of styles and designs.
Match your napkins to the mood. Keep it silly and light with cute patterned napkins or dress up the table with fancy cloth napkins. Looking for a pop of colour on the table? Choose something bright and bold!
Tip # 3 - Placemats for Everyone
Placemats don't have to be square...and they can be fun! Round placemats with pompoms are both dressy and whimsical. Match the tablecloth or add a whole new layer to the table with color, pattern and texture. Try to find placemats that can enhance the look of your dishes (whether fancy or plain) rather than clash or appear mismatched.
Tip #4 - Natural Accents for the Table
A pile of pumpkins looks fantastic on an autumn table—especially surrounded with candles and other finds from the garden. Break out the vases and add a few pampas grass stems, eucalyptus cuts, or other favourites. It doesn't take much to liven up the table and give it a down-to-earth vibe.
Tip #5 - Potted Centrepieces
Live plants and blooms are seldom more appreciated than on the table during a meal. They elevate the mood and food, provide conversation topics and look amazing.
You don't have to go crazy with the centrepiece either. A few 4" pots with friendly pansies or mums, some heather or marigolds, even a pot of herbs...or you could stick with your favourite indoor plants in fancy pots.
