Sandy’s Top Ten Christmas Finds
Let the season begin!
The Christmas season has started, and everyone is pulling out all the stops to decorate and find the most perfect gifts! I’ve done some of the legwork for you and collected my top ten Christmas finds for this year. It’s always hard to pick but these are the ones that really stood out for me and I’m so excited to share them with you!
1. Gourmet Trio Preserves from Salt Spring Kitchen Co.
You’ve probably seen, and hopefully had a chance to taste, these amazing jams and preserves! Especially for Christmas this Salt Spring Island company has created a limited edition Winter Wonderland collection that features new favourite flavours including: Pear & Ginger Chutney; Sour Cherry, Cranberry & Port Preserve; Winter Wonderjam (Strawberry, cranberry, orange & bourbon).
The young couple behind this successful company has created so many memorable flavours, and the beautiful packaging makes it perfect for hostess gifts, office exchanges or just to treat yourself. I also want to recommend their new hot sauce which is both tasty and spicy!
2. Só Luxury
Another local brand that I love, these amazing products are made by two childhood friends from Maple Ridge. Their original product, Coco Nut & Oat Milk Bath, was so popular that they created a whole line of self-care bliss. I love their Magnesium Oil spray for sore muscles, especially when relaxing at night! A fantastic gift for someone you love and want to pamper.
3. Illume Candles
Candles really set the mood at this season and all winter long. I love the Illume Holiday Shine collection this year, as it includes so many varieties and styles that all carry that magical glow and shimmer. Light a candle and pour some wine! The Winter White scent features aromatic evergreen and frosted cypress, dusted with white peppercorn, spicy-cool cardamom and a sparkling citrus nuance. We also have the Balsam & Cedar candles, with their woodsy winter fragrance.
4. Bamboo Leggings by “Orange Almost Naked”
I have to add these to the list because of how much I love wearing them! Incredibly soft, seamless and comfy for the winter. These high band leggings have no feet and come in burgundy, grey, black and navy. I also love that they are eco-friendly and a natural material.
5. Blush Pink
There are so many blush pink (or millennial pink) Christmas accents and ornaments this year! My favourite has to be the oversized knit throw in the soft pink colour. It’s soft and cosy, with a lux weighted feel and even has matching pillows. Another cute find this season are the felted ornaments in this cute pink, like the mice, reindeer and whale. Just a little ‘pink me up’ for Christmas.
This is the biggest year for gold accents yet! We’ve seen it in the past few years, but it looks like everyone is getting gold fever this Christmas with matte gold, soft gold, rose gold, sparkly gold…I could go on! Matching pillow sets, napkins for your table, candles and more. I especially like the white and gold containers with scripted words on them as they can be used for candles, plants and even candy.
7. Sheer Sleeve Tops by Orange Almost Naked
Dressing up for a holiday event? I think this is a really neat idea and needs to be on every women’s shopping list. These sheer tops are made to wear under sleeveless tops and strapless dresses, transforming your outfit into something new, without worrying about bare arms.
8. Princettia Poinsettias
My favourite Poinsettia in all white, these sold out last year super quick. A compact and dense plant, with tons of white blooms, it has become incredibly popular! This Poinsettia fits into the minimalistic home for the season, farmhouse style or a more modern look. I love to put three of the 6″ plants together in a basket or arrangement, especially with moss or gold accents.
Somehow especially festive at Christmas, Eucalyptus always looks amazing and is very popular in magazines and blogs for home decor. My absolute favourite is the Silver Dollar Eucalyptus with its big flat leaves. I love to use it around the house in glass or white vases for as simple accent that looks amazing and lasts a long time. It also works great in Christmas wreaths!
10. Galvanized Tin
Galvanized metals are all over the place right now, and they work amazingly well for Christmas accents in all sorts of homes including farmhouse style decor or alongside anything rustic. Our “Dreaming of a White Christmas” sign is galvanized tin but also includes magnetic wooden stars (super cute). I’ve also got my eye on neat snack tins with wood and rope lids, pots for trees, lanterns and adorable snowflake decorations.
11. German Candles
I know, I know, it was just supposed to be 10 favourites, but I couldn’t cut out this one! Beautiful snowball candles that absolutely glitter and shine, made in Germany. With three different colours to choose from, and a high quality burn, you’ll want to have them lit all season.
Wherever your Christmas shopping and celebrating takes you, I hope you have a great season!
