What’s fresher than having a bowl full of freshly grown greens ready to pick? Lettuce, tomatoes and many favourite herbs make this a perfect snacking and cooking resource on your patio!

Salad Bowl Ingredients:

  • 2 Bags of Original Sea Soil
  • 2 Bags of West Coast Gardens Premium Plater Box Soil
  • 1 30” Crescent Orinoco Pot  – Caviar Black
  • 1 Drain Smart Drainage Pad
  • 1 Planter Stand
  • 1 Obelisk
  • Peas
  • 1 Cherry Tomato
  • 1 Rosemary
  • 1 Tarragon
  • Basil
  • Mint
  • Onion Chives
  • Cilantro
  • Dill
  • Thyme
  • Swiss Chard
  • Mixed Lettuce
  • Romane Lettuce
  • Strawberries
  • Pansies – Two different colours

  1. Place the Crescent Bowl on it’s stand and cover the central drainage hole with a Drain Smart Drainage Pad.
  2. Fill your bowl half way with West Coast Gardens Premium Plater Box Soil. Smooth and gently press the soil down.
  3. Fill the bowl the rest of the way with Original Sea Soil until the soil is even with the rim of the pot. Set aside any extra Premium Planter Box Soil or Sea Soil for your next project.
  4. Place the obelisk in the centre of the soil and push the prongs down firmly.
  5. Plant your edibles: Start by planting peas at the base of the obelisk’s prongs.
  6. Plant the taller plants like the tomato, rosemary and tarragon closer to the centre of the bowl and plant the shorter plants closer to the perimeter. Leave 3-4 inches between the plants so that have room to grow
  7. Plant the lettuces and leafy greens in groups of three for a fuller and more balanced look.
  8. Finish planting by filling in spaces near the perimeter with pansies.
  9. Water your bowl and enjoy watching it grow. – Bon Appétit!
