DIY Autumn Perennial Basket
Who says hanging baskets are only for spring and summer? Not us!! We’ve created this gorgeous and overflowing Autumn perennial basket as inspiration. A mix of different greens, coloured botanicals, white and silver dusted leaves and grasses creates a tapestry of textures and shapes that will move in the wind and look gorgeous all autumn long!
Start with a hanging basket container (we’ve used a lovely cone shaped one with wicker exterior) and fill it with premium potting soil, leaving a hole in the middle for the plants to fill. We start with the biggest one, in this case the Heuchera, and then snugly fit the rest around the outside. The grasses and vines hang over the side and add interest and movement. Try to vary where you place colours so that each side is different!
What’s in the basket?
- Icicles Licorice Plant
- Evergold Sedge
- Variegated Sage
- Fibre Optic Grass
- Silverdust Dusty Miller
- Lysimachia Goldilocks
- Sedum Bernard Anderson
- Sedum Angelina
Have fun and remember you can improvise your own selection of autumn perennials in this basket as well!
