A Modern Hygge Christmas Home
We’re turning towards the simple things this season, inspired by the hygge wisdom of cherishing the little things and creating a space of comfort and warmth for those you love.
Christmas candles immediately bring a friendly glow, day or night. We think you can never have enough, especially when grouping them together on a tray, on the mantel, or during a meal. Find different sizes and colours that contrast and compliment.
Decorations make the tree—and we love using a simple colour scheme to tie them all together. Glass, wood, metal and shine can all hang on your tree together without overpowering the branches; just keep them within the same colour family (from neutrals to reds and everything in-between) for a simpler, more together, look.
When it comes to the kitchen, function is everything. Keep your holiday hygge touches out of the way by utilizing spaces that aren’t going to be used for creating delicious treats and sumptuous meals.
Mini-wreaths of cedar add a natural holiday flair to these chairs, while a single pine branch creates a modern evergreen display. Everyday potted Plumosa ferns somehow become more seasonal underneath a garland of gathered greenery cuts.
Eucalyptus spruces up your regular evergreen boughs with draping leaves and bold shapes. Mix it up with feathered, seeded, silver dollar and baby blue eucalyptus stems.
Long, draping, cedar garland is accented with eucalyptus stems and generously applied to the staircase bannisters. A pile of poinsettias all along the steps is an easy way to highlight the season in white and green.
Of course, we can’t forget the entranceway! Hint at the Christmas cheer waiting inside with fresh garland, wreaths, and a seasonal planter to welcome all your guests and family to your cozy, hygge home!
