Varieties of David Austin Rose Plants
Shrub Rose – These roses have natural, shrubby growth in a traditional bush shape. Their habit can be bushy, upright or elegantly arching and their height can vary from being quite short to tall.
Rambling Rose –Much more vigorous than shrub roses, they will produce great quantities of small flowers, although most do not repeat flower in one year. They are excellent for growing into trees and covering pagodas or large structures such as garages or sheds.
Climbing Rose – Generally have large blooms on not too vigorous, rather stiff growth, and most repeat flower during the year. Climbers are best grown on walls, trellises, arches and obelisks.
Standard Rose –These plants are created by budding three shrubs on a stem; hence the dramatic ‘tree-like’ effect. They are ideal for creating focal points in key areas of the garden and can also be used to line a path, frame a doorway or bring interest to a bare wall.
