Educational Field Trips
At West Coast Gardens we love to share what we do with curious minds—and that includes children! We would love to give you and your class a field trip to remember, as you discover how plants are grown in our greenhouses.
Our field trips can be customized for classes from kindergarten to grade 12. Take a look at what to expect below.
Learn All About Growing Plants
Come explore the garden centre in Surrey BC and talk to a horticultural specialist in our greenhouses! We can show you how commercial greenhouses work, how plants are grown and cared for and answer all your questions about germination, propagation and potting.
- Each student will also have the chance to get their hands dirty and take home something they planted themselves!
- We also provide take-home post-visit activity ideas for your classroom and each student.
There’s always something to see as we grow plants in our greenhouses all year round. (We may not accept class visits during July or August due to high greenhouse temperatures.) We are also available for classroom visits where we bring the enchantment of growing plants to your students!

Please note that all children must be supervised by adults when visiting our greenhouses. We do not assume responsibility for children during the field trip.
