You'll be feeling zen in no time, with this amazing patio or indoor planter full of lush foliage. We chose a large shallow rectangular container for our garden. If you container doesn't have drainage, then just make sure the soil is dry to the touch before watering.
Starting at the sides and back, we created a 'forest' look with large bushy ferns and other tropical plants that add height, such as grasses. Then shorter tropicals are added in front of those, to create interest.
Along the front sides we used plants that would spill over the edge to soften the look. Finally we add in different mosses, which will spread out over time and create a beautiful forest glade.
As accents, and to add to the natural style of this zen planter, we chose flat stones and layered them in a 'stepping stone' design. Small pebbles make up the rest of the path through our zen forest, along with wood pieces and larger pebbles.
Choose natural accents that you enjoy and create your own look! Finish it off with Buddha or other small figures and animals for the perfect zen garden.
