A mini-cultivator and a trowel are first on the list–allowing us to easily transplant and dig. Trowels come in a variety of sizes and we suggest having a few on hand, so you can transplant large and small plants with ease. As well, stainless steel is the best choice for a trowel or cultivator, as they are easy to clean, last a long time, and don't rust.

Bypass pruners are another useful tool in the garden, especially for pruning and shaping your shrubs and trees. We suggest investing in a high-quality brand of pruner so that it will last through the years. Also, get a pair that fits your hand so that you don't end up with a sore palm after your gardening endeavors.

Of course, we love our moisture and pH metre! Not just for your indoor plants, this handy tool can help you in the garden and on the patio. Use your moisture metre on your container gardens or in your garden beds to make sure your plants are getting water when they need it and aren't being overwatered.

To save your back from undue stress, keep a long-handled weed remover and Dutch Hoe in the shed! Your Dutch Hoe can cut through weeds and also help clean up and aerate your garden, with minimal effort.

As Spring begins this year, pull out your tools and give them an inspection. Clean off rust, add some oil and check if any of them need to be sharpened. This is a great way to make your tools last and also make gardening a breeze.
