Changes to Our Plastic Pot Recycling Program
Many of you have used our plastic pot recycling services, stacking up your unwanted pots at our garden centre so we can get them recycled for you. We love to reduce the waste that we, as gardeners, produce as we work towards creating beautiful natural spaces in and around our homes! Thank you to everyone who takes the time to recycle your pots after digging in your new seedlings or other plants.
But now there’s an easier way to recycle your garden pots, using the Recycle BC program. Plastic pots and trays (or paper-fibre pots) are now accepted in your curbside recycling blue-box. Make sure to remove all the soil from them first, and they will be whisked away to be recycled into their next reincarnation!
We’re glad the Recycle BC program is stepping in to fill the gaps left by our partner recycling affiliates. Our program will no longer be available as of November 1st, 2018. We want to thank you for participating in our recycling program, and hope you will continue to help reduce, reuse and recycle through the municipal and city programs!
